im going to put a gs1100 motor into a ds650, and i will sure apreciate all the help you can give me, like if i need to modify my frame, make it stronger, changing the shocks, what should i do. i'm gonna have to cut the frame in the front by the radiator, to be able to fit the motor.
any help you can give me will be cool

Are you talking about the older gs street bikes....A 1100???? thats a dam four lol....i think thats insane im actually putting a gs400 twin motor in a frame custom built from a tri z I know one things for sure ur gunna have a fun time instaling that thing.

 

now i've decided im going to put a newer motor into my ds, but i started the gs 1100, into a suzuki 230 i cut the frame, and put the frame of the bike were the motor mounts, so not too many mods. hopefully i'll have it done by the 21st, were going to the dunes.

 

I put a kz650 in my suzuki lt500- the exhaust system is tough on a 4 cylinder but the suspension was fine I just had to adjust the preload a little. I did a little gusseting on the frame and avoided any "mid-run welds" in other words I ran new tube from gusset to gusset instead of welding a piece into the frame. no probs and I ride it hard

 

do you do big jumps on your lt500 because you hacked you frame really goo and i dont think it would take big jumps
