Default backyard cylinder boring

my neighbor bought a brand new cylinder boring piece of equipment. i want to know if it would be ok if i were to bore out my stock blaster sleve an just put a bigger piston. my friend did this to his and it runs pretty good. and wat is a good size to go, i like alot of mid range an top end power. i was thinking maybe .040 over should i go bigger or smaller.

My first question to you is why do you want to do this?
The only reason to bore a jug is when it is worn beyond spec. If you are looking for more power you are not going to see any (not much anyway) from just boring.
If your engine needs to be bored then it needs to be taken apart and measured to find out the least amount you can bore to clean up the jug. This is the size you want.

boring for power is the most idiotic and stupid senseless thing anybody can do. no offense. but i hate it when people say i bored my cylinder like its a big deal. Boring does increase the size of your cylinder but not by much and you wont even notice the difference. If your boring for performance use it with other mods (pipes, porting, head mods, intake, etc.). and always remember, a stock engine is perfect. it is made perfect, and if you change anything you ruin the perfectness. Everything on a 2stroke works together, so if you are going to mod one thing you need to mod another just to make it perfect again. For example, you add a pipe, change the jets, and if possible do some porting. If you change your compression adjust your timing and fuel and look for a good pipe and good porting. Once you have a pipe, porting, head mods, intake mods, timing and fuel mods you can look into boring for power but unless you are THAT serious save your bores for when the engine fails because resleeving a cylinder isnt cheap and boring your cylinder for no reason will cause you to hafta resleeve it sooner than you would if you leave it on a stock bore.

well its in the shop being ported an polished so i thougth that you would get the most power out of it if you bored it a lil. im not saying it is going to make it a screamer just because it is bored. an im putting a high comp piston in it so i thought while i was in there i would do this.

You should have the shop that is porting it do the boring if it is indeed necessary.
You don't "JUST" bore it. It also needs to have the ports chamfered, or you are likely going to cause ring failure from having a ring catch on a sharp port.

a high compression piston for a blaster? LMFAO sounds like you need a new builder.

i suppose.

Kid, they dont make high or low compression pistons for 2-strokes. Compression in a 2-stroke is based upon how the combustion chamber of the head is configured.
