How do you completly redo a quad?
#1
When someone says completly redone is it suppost to mean like all new bearings, bushings,a rebuild, paint etc. or what?I am wondering because I am thinking about doing it.
Thanks,

When I say I completely redid my R I mean everything. Every bearing on the frame is new, the powdercoat and it all. The swingarm, a-arms, axle, shocks, steering stem, tank, wiring, radiator, bars......everything is brand new. Literally the only thing on my R from 1986 is the frame. But redoing quad could be as simple as stripping it down, giving it fresh bearings and bushings and paint. That route is not necessarily time or money consuming.

It aint too bad.Pure stock save for the shock covers when I got it.Probally didnt have anymore than 5 tanks of gas put through it by the looks.lol.I changed that by riding every day for the past 2 months though.I just was thinking of doing it the inexpensive way with the new bearings and such.Repack the muffler thats probally already blown out,cut the fenders, stuff like that.

If you do take it apart, I'd paint the frame Honda red. Wether you have yellow or red plastics it will look really good and stand out from any other EX.....i've seen a couple with red frames and they made me take a second look.

That sounds good to me but I was also thinking of changing my plastic to black.Itsn't it possible to paint the plastic or should I get new?My plastic is kinda scratched up now but I heard you can wet sand it.Is this true and if I can paint it is there certain products I should use? Thanks again.
