Dont know if you fixed the problem yet... But when you do any mods on your bike you have to re-jet your carbs and they are a pain in the a@@ to do.. I bought the edlebrock carb and it is the best thing yet easy to adjust. I put a 12:1 JE piston and hotcam in and did not even have to adjust the carb for that it adjust by its self.. any other help you need let me know.. Also check out www.raptortranny.com that is a very helpful site for the alot of the bike like valve adjustments ect... Hope this helps you out.. dont pay someone to work on it if you dont have too.

Well.....YEAH! You must rejet and don't ride it till you do. What other mods have you done? Just a full pipe? Stock air filter with the lid on?
First off, cut out the half flaps out of your snorkle on your air box lid. Set both of your air/fuel screws at 2 3/4 turns out. Put the needles on the 4th clip. I would try 155/160 on the main jets but buy a few more (higher and lower) cause your going to have to try different sizes to make sure its right on. Its not hard to do and gets much easier after your first time in......just take your time. While your in there, go ahead and replace the fuel bowl screws (all 8) with allen head screws size 4m-70-10s and the throttle linkage plate screws (all 3) with allen head screws size 4m-70-8s. You'll be glad you did...........

If you have the money up grade your carbs that is about the best thing to do. You could spend hours, days trying to get the jetting right taking the carbs, gas tank, and plastics off. I put the edlebrock carb on and had it jetted in a matter of 1-2 hours best upgrade yet never have had to adjust since going from 0-5000 feet. Good luck though.
