This thing has been a complete nightmare from the begining...Im fixing this thing for my friend and its driving me nuts.... It started off simple...Smoked liek crazy and seemed like the throttle stuck....I rebuilt the topend to take care of the blow buy and did a head job...Cleaned the valves and all that good stuff...It looked like the throttle cable was pulling out of its housing and sticking when you let off down by the carb so i installed a new cable....Heres the annoying part..The thing still races like it has a vacuum leak....I sprayed the thing down to check for vacuum leaks with carb clean...Found one at the manifold..Fixed it and it made no difference.... The weird thing is, its not a constant high rev, it will idle fine one minute and the next minute without touching it, it will race to the moon.... I check the needle to make sure the clip was installd properly installed in the slide incase the needle was walking up a bit and allowing more fuel in....Not the case...I think its a carb problem but i dont know what could be causing this....Im about ready to find a new carb for it...Any input on this subject will be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks......

The coke is off, and the idle screw makes no difference....It does acts just like the choke is on....The weird thing is one moment it will race, the next it idles fine...

I have a 230 also and It has been one of the most reliable quads I had ever had. starts first kick. When I got mine I had the same problem. I even rebuilt the carb and it still ran not good....I took a carb off of my old mx 100 and It works perfect. Check the carb boot for any leaks.

when my 230 motor wa still in the chassis, i fixed that problem by taking the decompression valve out and threading the hole and putting a small bolt in it, like a block off...
