If you got your blaster from Apex chances are that it is not jetted for the altitude. If you didn't have the jets changed already call them and ask "What jet is in it?". If your blaster hasn't been rejetted then you should be able to bolt on the pipe and ride. Like Bearman said an after market pipe can cause your motor to run lean. After you install the pipe take it for a short ride and check the spark plug. If your plug appears to be white then you will need to change to a larger jet.

You should probably change your main jet. I had a 98 blaster before i got my banshee and it had a similar set-up to yours. It had the same pipe and silencer, but it had boyesen reeds and was bored 40 over. So the set-up was similar and i was running a 280 jet. I was able to smoke most blasters. But I never raced any blasters that had domed pistons or milled heads. I would probably suggest a 260 main jet but you must consider winter and summer too.

jet kits are a royal waste of money. Learn to jet your carb using the real jets intended for the carb, and it is much easier for others to help you out in jetting, and for rejetting in the future as weather and motor mods change.
