Twist throttle?
#1
I have seen some riders with and some without. Not really sure if I would like it or how it would do with my style of riding, pretty much a variety of riding though, trails, hill climbs, wide open areas, some sand.
My thumb does get pretty tired and wore out after long periods of riding.
Any adv/dis. to the twist throttle?

Most people who started on motorcycles like to change to a twist it`s what their used to. Personally I like thumb. The only advantage I have heard is you have better throttle control during hard right hand turns and only guys who ride fast or race may have a problem with this.

I really like my twist throttle. At first it was really hard, but you get used to it quick. Just dont try jumps on the first couple days of using it, its alot harder to control UNTILL you get used to it.

I have a twist throttle and it sucks, its a heck of alot easier to take your thumb off if you are going over then to take your hand off which you cant do, I usually end up going over more.... its fun but sometimes sketchy.. Id go with a thumb throttle. Plus its a heck of alot easier to run the front brakes and throttle with a thumb :-)

I rode today with it...and I wouldn't advice you to go for it...unless the thumb is atrociously painful.
Maybe I'm not used to it yet on the quad, but it did feel bizzare, but I had no arm cramps. I won't get back to the thumb, but it's not as fine as it is on a bike.

If you get one you will like it and it won't take long to get used to it. I have always had bikes growing up so after I bought my 400EX I had to ride 3weeks with the thumb and I was used to it after the first few days, then I got my twist throttle for it. It took a few hours just to get used to the twist again just because I was used to the thumb. What ever you get you will like and unlike a set of pipes $300+ a twist from motion pro is only 35 bucks so if you don't like it you didn't just blow half your pay-check.

35$ !!!!!!
You're dreaming! On a 400EX, probably, but no way it's that cheap on a shee.
I paid it 100$can + idle kit 55$can (I didn't buy the idle kit...no use for me, had everything that was inside the kit -tap, drill, 2 special bolts-).
It replaces the whole thing, you'll loose the TORS (and get something simpler). Don't forget to unplug the autokill. long caus you have to take off the plastics and tank.
