I was wondering what I would be getting myself into-was thinking of swapping out the motor in my stock 400ex for something alittle faster like a 500 dirt bike motor or something along those lines(any suggestions?). Im a fabricator by trade so I can make all the mounts. any input would be cool. thanks

hey dude. the best motor to put in a 400ex is a yz400/426. its what im in the middle off doing now to my 400ex. you can pick those motors up for aroud $800.
theirs a guy that makes mounting kits for a 400ex to mount the yamaha motors in. heres his e-mail. slewis23@sbcglobal.net ask him about the 400ex frame mount kit. he sells the kit for $260 shipped.
