Carbureted 97 gsxr in a ds frame
I would like to tell everybody that wants to stuff a street bike motor into a quad that it is a job and a half. I tackled mine last summer and there were times that I just walked away from it for a few days and belive it or not when I came back to it everything was a lot easier. Anyway if you can weld decently you can build the machine that you want. My gsxr ds-650 750 came out very nice if I do say so myself. the only problem I'm having is that I put 4 uni slip on filters on instead of the stock airbox (due to space) and I can't seem to get the jetting right. Don't get me wrong I've had her over 100 mph on the flats at the dunes but it is not running at it 's fuull potential. Does anybody have any helpful hints or ideas or names of places that could dial it in for me? I live in Henderson Nv.

I believe there is a tool that works on vacuum to balance the air flow. It's got tubes filled with mercury or something. If you do a search on the internet, you'll probably find a place you can buy or rent one. Anyways, I'd guess you'd use one of those tools first and then plug chop it. Different cylinders may need different jetting, so you'd have to do each cyl individually. Or if you've got the money go the dyno-tuning route.

I had this problem whith a bike that had individual filtters. I found out that the filters did not give the carbs enough vaceume to open the diaphrams up all of the way. I got with dyno jet and they sold me a set of light weight springs and this solved my problem.
Hope this helps.
