Default krylon plastic paint

How well does the krylon plastic paint work. Does it easily scatch and chip off or will it hold up. I became hesitant when somebody told me to paint all my fenders instead of buying new ones. thanks

it depends we used it on our xr500 it's holding up awesome on the front fender, but the gas tank is a whole different story. it bubbles peels, basicly sucks. so try it if it doesn't work take it off(its not hard to remove if its not right)

I used it to paint the tank shroud and a section of the fender, where there was a stock warning label (placement for OH. off-road sticker). It's held up great on the fender, but some spilled gas took it rite off the tank. I'd attempt the whole fender before buying new, if just for scratches. You'd just have to be carefull re-fueling. IMO.

well paint is getting better these days
it depends on how well the part is prepared -just like a car or anything else
and now there is clear in a can!! that really helps, looks good too!!
sand it , prime it and paint it,then clear it
it would only cost a little money compared to new plastics
hard part is prepp work

Been there done this on my kids 80. It worked great on everything accept the fuel tank. And quite frankly the prep and materials needed to have paint properly adhear to a plastic fuel tanks is just too much. I am going to have custom graphics made to cover his tank. take your time and put on light coats almost fogging it on and it should turn out good.

been there and done that as well !!
stickers peel ,and fade and can be power hosed off,or loose
if painted and cleared ,with good paint ,it will last
paint does'nt need to be baked on to last on a tank
just done right ,and time to dry propperly
