wanting to Build rigid frame snowmobile motor drag racer for my kid
#1
I would love some advice on how and what would be a good donor snowmobile to use. will be racing on 300ft sand tracks and looking to run a max of 5.5 to 5 seconds. also do I start with an atv frame and mod it or build a rigid frame from scratch? Plus any and all other advice will be great.

I'd say a polaris 700 twin. Mostly because they're really common and easy to come by. I ride a 98 rmk 700 and my only problem has been a broken hood, but thats another story.

There is a guy on the Bombardier forum that put a Ski-Doo twin cylinder, two stroke in an older Polaris chassis.I assume he took advantage of the CVT drive train that came with the atv. Fabricating an exhaust could be a challenge. Sorry i can't remember his name ,i think he lives in Wisconsin.

I have a 2001 artic cat 1000 triple with a hooper 1100cc top end kit mounted in an ultra light +14 banshee frame but in order to get it to run 5.5 in the 300 you would have to pull off 2 plug wires LOL
