Default yamaha warrior 350 hop ups?

have a 1989 warrior with a 2000 engine on it, FMF slipon, and now a K&N filter, even before the filter was put on my engine has this ticking noise, i thought that it was the valves, so i checked and set them right, but the noise continues, it isnt really loud, and when reved, the noise isnt as bad, ive heard that many warriors do this, and i was hoping that its just a warrior noise, b/c i want to put a edelbrock carb on it and a FMF powerbomb header, but i dont want to put that power to the engine and have it blow. What do u suggest i do??

Yup, Warriors are known for their 'ticking'. I had an '03 and it did it also, its just how they sound.
