Which brand of piston for Raptor 660
#1
I rode a 660 last night with a hi compression piston (the guy thought 10.5) and stage 2 hotcam, along with airbox and pipe. Man, what a difference between that and our Raptor which has pipe K&N and jetting. It felt like it should, pulled hard in the uppers and had that angry engine like my YFZ. I just gotta do that to our Raptor, it'll be so much more fun on them big sand hills.
Anyway, it seems people were having better luck with the JE pistons over the Wisecos? Any feedback on that?
Thanks,
SR

JE is a big risk for the 660. Ross is great, but twice the price. Wiseco is extremely reliable but there is a very thin selection availible. CP also makes very good pistons but is in the same price category as Ross.

I'm a huge fan of reliability, which is why I would recommend to you what I use: Wiseco. My piston is 11:5 to one high compression. I also have a stage 1 hotcam, K&N and full LRD Pro4 exhaust. The quad runs great now!

Thanks for the advice guys, I'd probably go with the Wiseco then. Not building a nitrous motor or anything wild, just want the next level up and also reliability since it's Mrs Shady's ride. Even the wife now and then when we're running the big hills out back wants some more power in this thing, and I get instantly bored riding it, so a little step-up is in order.

I have a JE in mine. . I love it. I did the 686 kit, stage 2 cam, oversize valves, big gun high rev, ported and polished, yoshi pipe, and pro design intake. I have rode mine a few hard weekends so far and have not had one problem. I've been extremely happy with the entire motor for no more than what it cost to do. Me and tons of guys I know that have modded bikes are using the JE PISTONS and we all love them.

i have always ran je 12.5:1 in my raptor. i just recently changed to a 720 with a 12.5:1 cp piston. we will see how the cp does. you can find je pistons for 150.00 and i paid close to 300.00 for the cp.

with all the modifications done to my machine would a hich compression piston really change the power output that drastically?? because ill tell u right now, that thing is a beast. after i got it ported and polished i was amazed at how much torque it had through out every gear top and bottom.
