I own a 99 Wolverine and am wanting a bigger oil cooler on it. I live in Arizona so my machine gets pretty hot here in the desert. After looking at the new Big Bears oil cooler I went down to the local auto parts store and looked at a couple universal oil coolers. There were a few that I liked but in order to install one of these, I must hack off the fittings on the wolverines oil cooler lines. My question is, has anyone added one of these universal coolers to there machine? how did they work? I am not satisfied with the stock (tiny) cooler that is on it now. Would it e a good idea to do this mod? Thanks for any info......Herbert

Check that your oil temp. is not exceeding 210 degrees F. Ride it normally, then stick a meat thermometer in the oil(a quick drain may be required), if it's too hot, then re-assess the possibility of adding an oil cooler. There may be other options available from other sources that would preclude you needing to "hack" the OEM fittings off.(hydraulic repair shops may be able to fab a connection up for you)
