Blaster Head Shave
#1
I want some input, if I shave my head(er.. I mean my Blaster's) how much should I take off? I plan on .010" to start. Factors I am considering are that I live in hot and humid Florida, temps often see 100 degrees before the heat index. How much can I take off and still run 93 octane with PJ1 Goldfire Pro oil? I have a Trinity superlite piston(with the extra high speed port), K&N directly to the carb(no airbox),and boyeson reeds. At present the pipes are stock but an upgrade is in the near future.
And most importantly, if it does overheat after I shave it, can I purchase a +.010" over gasket or drop the compression and squish back down to stock another way?
I don't want to have to shim under the cylinder to lower compression, and I won't pay the cash for another stock head. The pro design just costs too much.
