The more I read about cannondale's 397 cc four stroke,Fuel injected reversed jug motor cycle. The more impressed I'm getting.

The reason,My 400ex is 397 cc's.And I was courius whether that fuel injection system could be cross bread to my ex.Hmmmmmmm? Both four strokes,Both 397 cc's.

But I can't find out who makes it.I'm hearing it's made by Bosh. But can't confirmm.

Any info would be nice. What do you think Pam?/Gordon.

If Cannondale is going mass production on this bike,The electronic fuel injection unit's cost must be comming down.

Anything, and I mean anything, can be done if you got the $$$. I've seen FI street bikes, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles. You just need to save your pennies and talk to the right people. I would suggest looking in a street bike mgazine. That is where you will find the most FI machines. Or a snowmobile mag. Hope this helps!

PS-cant wait to see one of these Cannondales run, I ride Cannondale mountain bikes, and if I know them like I think I do, they will rip!

If you are really serious about fuel injection, there are many aftermarket companies that offer ECU's that are capable of running a single cylinder two or four stroke engine, match that with a little machine work, some off the shelf parts, and a little know-how and some tuning time and you are set. If you would like some more info let me know via e-mail, or post on the forum.

If I fail to reply to a post on the forum, just mail me, sometimes it is a while between times when I can browse the forum.

Here is somthing that just came to mind.

With EFI you could run with an adjustable exaust.Tuned one way for quiet ridding where sound is an issue.Tuned the other way for full performance where sound is not an issue. With no need to rejet, because there are no jets.A small adjustable computer and sensers control the rest.

I know what your thinking? This must be expencive right? But that tecnology proven in other sports is making inroads into our sport. What's the bet,That in two years we'll be buying hot chips for our quads like we do for our cars today.Trying to manipulate the quads brain to go faster.

So what do ya think?

Doing the injection unit is easy.
Finding a brain to match,harder.
Finding the sensers to make it all work and knowing where to put them,The toughest problem?

I would bet you could shave a couple seconds off pike's peak,s best time with this.

I have fitted fuel injection/management system to my scrambler 500. I have competed sucessfully with this for the past 12 months.
I have just bought a new 400 EX. This will be fitted with a similar system + a bolt on 4WD system.Give me an e-mail if you want more info.
