Dead Banshee
#1
HELP! After washing my Banshee on Sunday, it doesn't want to start easily. First I removed the stator cover and dried that all out and coated it with WD-40, and it still didn't want to start. After pull starting it the first time, now I can get it to start but only by pegging the throttle while kicking it over. Any thoughts?? Maybe the pilot jet? Do both carbs have a pilot jet, or only the one with the choke ****? Thanks for the help in advance.

I`m not really to familiar with Banshee`s but you probably got water in you air box which got into your carbs you should maybe drain all the gas out of them to get rid of the excess water. Then it should work fine, about the pilot jets, both your carbs have pilot jets.

I have had the same problem with my Banshee before. I think it was from when I washed it I got the CDI unit wet. I think it is the CDI, whatever is mounted under rear fenders right behind the taillight. I'm not sure though that it was the CDI being wet that caused the problem. Whenever I just rinse the fenders, seat, tank and wheels off it doesn't do anything to effect the starting, but when I give it a good washing job like washing underneath the fenders, pipes, frame, etc. it does this. I know it's not water getting into my airbox or carbs since I don't run an open airbox and don't spray water anywhere were it could some how get into the opening of the airbox. I recently pulled every electrical fitting or plug on my Banshee and applied some dielectric grease inside of the plugs and reinstalled them. So far I haven't had any problems when I have washed it. Hope this helped some.
