Utility atv's performance eghausts
#1
I have been looking at performance eghaust/pipes for the utility quads on the market and have come up with these eghausts. I have just recently seen that Whitebrothers has come up with a utility performance pipe-produces 10% more power, large silencer for quiter sound, etc. is this true? Supertrapp has a couple eghausts worth looking at like the Supertrapp IDS, and now the IDS 2 eghaust, which is better offers more performance cuz they are both quiet. i think the IDS 2 costs more. any replies guys?

Cody, I have no experience with the IDS of Supertrapp, but I do know something about the older model with the outside discs. I've been running it on a Curtis Sparks pipe for about two years on my Warrior. As far as quiet is concerned, that is pretty much determined by how you tune it. If you tune for low end torque with the minimum number of discs it will be quiet. However, if better mid-range or top end is what you're looking for, you'll have to run more discs & the more you add the louder it gets.
For example, I run the maximum number recommended by supertrapp of 20 discs and it is quite LOUD! So basically, you must strike a balance between decibels and performance.
I'd have no problem recommending Supertrapp, though, as they are the pioneers in tunable silencers for thumpers, having been around for 20 years that I know of.
