HELP, carb trouble! Question.....
#1
I have a 1987 Honda 250 Four Trax 4 cycle.
It acts like its getting too much gas and flooding out. It leaves the plugs Black and fouls them out.
Where can I buy a replacement carb?
I need to take to Honda place and get it rebuilt.
They said it probaly needs needlw replaced....
What do you think?

If they say it probably needs a needle, why dont you buy a jet kit and a service manual, install the kit and check the float settings. The jet kit comes with a new needle and I installed mine in under two hours. The dyno-jet kit comes with a trouble shooting guide to help get it tuned right. The jet kit is about fifty bucks and the manual is about twenty. So for about seventy bucks and a few hours of your time you may be able to fix your own problem for less than it would cost for a shop to and learn a little about your quad at the same time.well good luck and happy riding.

I know this post is a bit old...and you may have had your questions answered by now.
I had the same problems with my banshee...it was flooding out regardless of the jet sizes etc.
I ended up rebuilding...Changing the needles and the floats...worked just fine after that...If the needles are not sealing properly, gas will Over fill the bowl, and the floats will not turn off the gas flow.
Hope this helps
