Has anybody purchased one of these kits? How do they perform? What about reliability? What has been your over all experience with the company?

The 310kit is great. The only kit that you can use with the stock bottom end. It comes with a ct ported jug, piston kit, and all the gaskets. Awesome power increase!

A properly tuned CT/Pro-X 310 kit flat hauls the mail. I've had mine for about a year now and have had no reliability problems with it and as far as performance goes, I haven't run across a 250 that can touch it. The torque with these kits is amazing. My experience with CT has been good. When I've had questions they were answered thoroughly and any problems I had were taken care of. Although the kit is a bit pricey, it is well worth it.

I am also interested in the CT310 Kit. I currently have an 87TRX With a 86 cylinder & Head (5th over. Weisco) , mild porting, & FMF Torque pipe and silencer. What other mods will have to be done for peak performance? Larger carb? Different pipe? Thanks.

87TRX, 86ATC250R

I believe you can get just a kit (310 cc CT ported jug and piston kit with gaskets) for $850 or there is a power package that comes with a larger carb and pipe among other things. I would think the stock carb and pipe would work fine as long as the A/F is tuned for 310cc. You wouldnt think the stock pipe would be tuned for 310cc and you wouldnt think the stock carb would be enough for the extra cc's..but it would work and still be a healthy power increase until you can step up to an aftermarket carb etc..

alock and 250rrat, now you are in my domain. I have a CT RACING 310R and LOVE IT! The torque as compared to a stock 250R is very impressive. I'm running 13/38 gears, with FMF Gold Series pipe and silencer(I actually want a LRD Adjustable), 38mm Keihin PJ, and Boyesen Rad Valves. This ole girl has became one of those American Gladiator babes. In FOURTH gear, nail the thumb, and up comes the front wheels!!! : ~ ) Only one downside (if YOU call it that), CT recommends running 100 OCT. or better. I run a 50/50 mix of Sonoco 110 and Shell 93 along with KLOTZ R-50 at a ratio of 36/1. The old addage "there is no replacement for displacement" definitely applies. Spend the $900 and NEVER look back.

If you opt for a 310 cylinder, you will want to go to a larger carburetor. For anything but strictly XC riding, a Keihin 38 PWK Air Stryker would be the best bet. That's also what CT recommends. As far as a pipe is concerned, you're better off to use the pipe that the engine builder recommends, as they have a specific pipe in mind when they port a cylinder. Also, a reed cage that flows better than stock,i.e. Delta V-Force, RAD valve, would be a benefit.

Witz is correct that a PWK Air Striker is better than my PJ. But at the time I already HAD a PJ. For future mods, I am actually considering a 40mm LECTRON.
