95 wolverine is a bigger cam worth the money?
#1
I own a 95 wolverine with a FMF Megamax2 pipe , vented airbox lid , and a K&N filter . The bike works excellent but like everyone , I want more !!! I,ve been
considering a .390 lift cam and a higher comp. piston . But i,ve been told by some people its not gonna help much . Is this true or not? If it will help is there any better
piston than a weisco? I,ve been told that
they claim it,s 10.5-1 but its actually not even 10-1 its more like 9.75-1 comp. Somebode please help me.

If you ride in areas where you use more top end, rather than torque -- and you are running a stock size tire that's not too heavy, the .390 lift cam will give you a little more midrange and top end.
BUT!!! Big but here!! You will loose torque, which can make the Wolverine a pretty crummy ride in mud or on tight hillclimbs.
What about a little bigger piston? You can go to 365cc without installing a new sleeve. JE builds these for Powroll and they're 10.5:1 compression.
You'd have to re-jet, and I have heard some people say they have had a overheating problems with this bore kit in bikes that were ridden under a heavy load for long peroids of time, but other than that, it's very reliable.
