446 almost done!!

Well, it's been a long, drawn out process, but I'm starting to get somewhere on my 446 big bore/stroker Wolverine. My new job 200 miles from home isn't helping, until my house sells, I'm basically working my 4 ten hour days, then driving back Thursday night to take care of the house/mow lawn/ see my dogs and kid, then head back Sunday after lunch to do it all over again. Not a lot of spare time !!
Anyway, motor is up and running, finally got the new Kodiak 8 pass oil cooler hooked up,just took a little top bracket reweld, and some custom brackets on the bottom to bolt it to the frame. My surprise was the first time I tried to start it, it turned over 3 times, and took right off! warmed it up good, putted around the yard,no seat, no front plastic, I must have looked pretty silly! Jetting is still off, too rich on the top, but the botto end feels pretty good, rejetted and tried again, a lot better, after a warm up, I ran it around the yard, any little bump I hit,a jab of the throttle would bring the front end up,never did that before. I have a CFM aluminum air box, but still have the stock exhaust, I need some recommendations on a good all around slip on, not too loud, this is a yard and trail machine, not a racer !! I am looking at a Muzzy, any one have experience with those? Well, my weekend is up, back to work, so I will try to finish up next weekend.

I'm particularly proud of how the oil cooler came out, I was able to use the stock oil lines and fittings, since it was all Yamaha parts, just tilted the new oil cooler back and used the 2 threaded mounts on the frame to attach the aluminum brackets,it seems to be working good, the old 3 pass would get scorching hot when warmed up, so far this was get hot, but not any where near the old one, and I don't seem to be getting as much heat off the motor,it seems to be keeping the temps in check a lot better. You're right, I should take some pictures and post them, I even made a quick and dirty lower grill out of some perforated aluminum, painted to match the bumper, looks ok until I can fab up something more permanent. Once the jetting is done, and I can find a pipe, it should be a nice little plaything, can't wait to take it back up by Duluth and ride some trails (if I ever sell my house and get moved up permanent !!)
