2 strock engine knock
#1
I own a '99 banshee and for the past year I have listed to what sounds like a piston slap (fluttering) type knock coming from my engine.. I have rebored and replaced the pistons with no help at all. I have read elsewhere that this happens in motors with a counterballancer, but i dont think the banshee has one.. Can anyone help me on this one?

your bearings at the bottom of your rods are worn. if the bike is fairly new, i don't know why this would be the problem. the other suggestion is, when you start doing eng. mod. rings, bore, big bore kits etc. you'll always hear piston slap. dont know why but its always there.

it very well could be the counterbalancer..the balancer is fighting the engine (trying to slow down) and the sound is the gears slightly banging. it wouldn't hurt to pull your topend and have your rods adn bearings checked out tho.
