I have a 1986 ATC250ES Big Red. I installed a Cobra Megaphone exhaust. My problem is skipping at high rpm. My plug always seems to burn a nice tan color so I didn't think it was jetting problems, but I could be wrong. I just wanted to know if my engine has a rev limiter on it or is my problem with the jetting?

 

To be honest with you, Honda can't even give you a straight answer on this (at least the dealers I contacted couldn't). I ran into this on a 200X a while back, and no matter how I jetted the carb, it still "skipped" at high RPMs. My personal opinion is that they do have a rev limiter.
