Default 88 warrior 350 cheap power

I bought an 88 yamaha warrior 350 from my uncle. he was using it as a farm four wheeler for many years. i now have the ugly metal rack and mudflaps taken off. It runs good but i am looking for some cheap power boosts (i only paid $500 for the whole bike). a friend of mine told me to take the baffle out for some more power. any ideas?

I have a 88 warrior also
if u got the dough, the "white brothers-E-series" pipe added tons of low-end power without robbing top-end. It sounds mean & is a spark arrester. cost bout --230.00
New cdi box can raise your rev and increase power.
They cost about---130.00
K&N airfilters work also. run about---50.00
other than this stuff, I would recommend keeping your oil as clean as possible. even if it means changing alot. Bad/old oil will robb alot of power from your quad.
I recommend "Amsoil"
Hope this helps you bro.

thanks for the advice. i could definitely use some more low end power. i'm a pretty big guy so it needs all the help it can get. prior to me getting it, the bike had been barn-stored and not ridden in a couple of years so i changed the oil right off the bat.

Go for an aftermarket pipe and filter(I prefer foam filters for anything but dunes) You can skip the complete intake by drilling a few holes in the airbox lid to flow more air, Uni even sells little 1" diameter filters to pop in the holes to help keep nasties out of the engine. Rejet and see how you like it. You can gain some low end by changing the gearing at the expense of top speeds. After that it gets expensive to upgrade, but if you can do the work yourself you could always pop in a higher comp piston fairly cheap.
