Should I spray paint my skid plates black. im worried about what they would look like after theyve been scratch up.

 

Well I don't think it really matters, I mean it's not like you're always looking at your quad underneath. Sure black might look good, but when it gets scratched up (like you said) it will look pretty bad.

I'd just save yourself the trouble and not do it.

 

yea i was kinda leaning towards that. What about the a-arm guards

 

I'd say the same thing.

I have black A-Arms (no guards since it's a sport quad) on my 08 Suzuki LTR-450, I took it trail riding last weekend and had to go up quite a few steep hills that were made up of just rocks, needless to say now the bottoms of my A-Arms are scratched, so the top of the A-Arm is black and the bottom is silver, looks awful IMO.

So I'd say the same thing would happen to you if you went over some rocks with black painted a-arm guards, they'd just get all scratched up and ugly.

Maybe some powdercoating would hold up decently if you're really set on painting them black. Only downside is that it is more expensive than just using spray paint and doing it yourself.
