Default High performance cdi unit

I have an 02 yamaha warrior. I just bored it out 2mm over... 080. It has a dg slip on exhaust and I just jetted it. lately I have been having trouble with the way it runs. I believe it is spark related... possibly the cdi. I was wondering if a high performance cdi unit would work or could it have more harm to my quad. I realize that I'm not looking at huge horse power gains, I just want to know if it could hurt my engine. I am looking at a Dynateck FS High performance cdi unit. Thanks, any feedback would help.
