I hit a rock and cracked my case pretty good. The rock went through my skid plate on my 300EX and punched a hole in the bottem of the moter. Does anybody know where I can get this fixed or will i have to buy a new moter. I would like to keep the cost down if i could.

thanks

This is not a difficult problem to fix with the right materials. I once blew a hole the size of a golf ball in my mini-bike as a kid and covered with wire mesh coated in JB Weld. It was still running several years later when I finally outgrew it.

Still, I would get recommendations from those who have used more recent products. The key is to identify one that will not react to oil or gas.

Is it just a crack, or a hole with a piece missing?
A crack can be either repaired by yourself with special rods you can get at your local welding shop, or by a professional. The rods are designed to work like solder, using a propane torch. The surfaces have to be VERY clean, then you heat the surface and flow the rod into the cracked area (better practice on something before attempting it yourself, or have a professional do it). You probably need to make sure there is no internal damage to the integrity of the case before attempting the repair.
