Default Need help with my winch mount...

So I have a 2002 Yamaha Kodiak. I recently bought a WARN winch, and winch mount. Once the winch and mount arrived, I read the instructions and it looked brainless as it should be.

But, never the less, there was no way my mount was going to work. I spent an hour from the internet site I bought it from, and a couple hours on the phone with WARN. Nothing was figured out. WARN believed I may actually have an 03 Kodiak, which was different, but after looking at those install pics, the 03 Kodiak was MUCH farther away from looking like mine than the 00-02 models.

At any rate, I took the quad to a local dealer to have them look at it. They ran the VIN, and said it was an 03 model, and I just needed the newer mount. I really doubt the new mount will fit, as it looks not even close in the diagrams and pics that WARN sent me. I also kind of doubt my model is an 03, as the 03 model of my quad had a full digital dash (and mine does NOT). The only thing I can think of is if someone replaced the newer digital dash with the old style (which would be stupid).

Anyone have any suggestions?

I bought a "Oem" one. I can pretty much figure out anything. Lol well I got to say it was a no go till I cut the light brackets. I used gm u bolts and went with it. Not the sexiest setup, but I will relocate and fab up something to make it look good. By this was a 300 bayou but still it doesn't half to be like others just work.

I ended up having a shop Fab me up something.

Spent more on the Fab work than I did on the winch! On the plus side, its done and over with now, and I should get some money back returning the winch mount. Still don't know what the deal was.

Good job.
The Bayou has steel CV boot guards welded right onto the A-ams? Good idea, there not cracking or falling off.

I got to say kawaski built the bayou like a tank. I really have been impressed with this atv. I have drove just about ever brand. Got to say bayou was a great build. I would love a can am or a big cc atv but price and over all weight are issue. I have 700 bucks buying this one and about grand in new parts. Lol tires and rims cost over 800...
