Here it goes, Blaster stock headlight is 12v. 45/50w. light.

Ive got a halogen 12v 60/55w headlight and plug-in w/wires.

I am going to cut my wires to the headlight, take that and the plug-in out and replace the plug-in with the one that fits the halogen and put the halogen in it.

I know that they are 15w off (same voltage), but that should only make it a little dim(mer)? Right?

Do you think this will work without messing anything up? Please help me out, I'd really like to do it within the next day or two but dont want to kill my electrical system or burn out my stator... Will this work?

I'm pretty sure that will burn out your stator after a short time because your making it work harder to make the light shine. We hooked up a set of fog lights from a car to my dads Polaris trailboss 250 connecting to the battery where it wont mess up the electrical system, you might want to try getting a motorcycle battery and rigging the lights up to that and fitting the battery into the tool box underneath the seat somehow and just re charge the battery when the light starts to get dim, you could also keep the stock light.

The only thing it will hurt is your wallet for buying those lights. Have you ever put a 9 volt battery to a household light? Nothing happens. The stator can't work harder. It just works. Yes the light will be dimmer. I don't know by how much but you'll notice it. This also can be applied the car stereo systems. Say you have a 300 watt sub, but an amp that can only push 200 nothing will happen but a noticable loss in performance.

I don't think you will have any problems with the stator, plus they over build alot on these atv's, atleast that is my experiance w/Honda (not trying to bash). I just added a 100w light with my 55w stator and it is real bright. I'm sure it would be brighter if it had the full 100w but it is PLEANTY for me.

dirt817, 2fiftyX, Thanks!!!
Anyways I bought it from denniskirk quite a while ago and its just been sitting here.. might as well do something with it. It sure looks cool its a gold/purple tint like the "bright whites".. They are a little expensive, but the stock ones are also a b#tch to find, at least for me.. and they blow out very easy. Im gonna do it.. if it is not as bright as I would like Ill just get a lower watt one, it has to be better then what is in it?! Thanks!

all the parts are from a warrior. I had to make caliper mounting brackets out of angle steel. I machined a hub spacer on a metal lathe. check out more on my site:

i just got it up a few weeks ago and i will be adding nose wheelie pics to the brakes page soon.
