I just bought a 1998 cbr 600 engine for 500 bucks works and everything. Any Ideas?

Also, i got a snowmobile engine (440 2-stroke) that is working good also.

My neighbor and I were thinking we might try to fabricate something similar to the drakart (check dw for pictures) I bought new a-arms and shocks for my 400ex, so we have those parts. We were thinking we would go to a junkyard and buy an old steering column, and a seat, and then buy some metal and build a frame. That would take care of the front end, but what about the rear? We dont have a freekin clue how we would go about that. Any ideas?

Like the one in dirtwheels. I don't think that would be a good idea. Call some used parts atv stores and maybe find a quadzilla frame? That might work better than custom fabrication.

if you want to go fast put in the streetbike engine, but if you want power, put in the snowmobile's. snowmobile engines put out ALOT of power, but don't rev too high. Streetbike engines will rev as high as you want.

Put the 600 engine in a 250R or 400EX chassis and get a 12" over swingarm.

The Dirt Wheels article is on the Drakart site: www.drakart.com

Here is a picture of a Drakart about to get slammed in the side:

This page has some of the carnage after:

The drivers of the two Drakarts are new to racing and were not pushing the cars to their limits. Unless you count testing to see how well it handles flipping end for end when tangled up with another machine.

Around this area the CBR600 is used in mini sprint cars. These are fun to drive and/or race. With few mods they could be adapted to dune runners. Check around, sometimes you can find mini sprint rolling chasis pretty cheap.
