Ok, here is the deal.. I now own a 2000 Quadrunner 500 and I want to know if it is possible to make it so that I can switch between 4x4 and 2x4. I took a look at the new quadrunners and the front end looks just like to 2000 model, just that the newer ones have the lever that goes into the front diferential.
Now, I have no idea as how to do somthing like this, but I was wondering if anyone here had ever heard of someone doing this mod. If so, could you point me to the way so that I can see how it is done.

The only reason that I want to try to do this is because it is a pain in the rear to stear because it is full time four wheel drive. My arms are getting tired after a four or five hour trip through the woods.

If everything looks the same you may be able to use the front diff on the 2000. Just hook up the front like is is on the new model?

 

Its possible that all you would need is the transfer case if the front and rear ends look the same. May want to contact the manufacturer and compare part numbers on the drive lines to see if they are indeed the same. Best of luck, Aaron.
