Suzuki Quadsport
#1
I know where i can get a 85, or 86 Quadsport for pretty cheap. I've been looking for a rolling chassis for a long time to put a Kawi 440 twin into. However, I don't know much about the Quadsport, so I have a few questions.
Is it really "sporty" as the name would imply.
Does it have enough suspension to handle a 440 motor.
Will the wheelbase be too short for this kind of thing.
I'm prepared to do lots of modifications, but I'd just like to hear that the Quadsport will be a good platform to start from.
If I could I'd poke the motor in a Warrior chassis, but I can't find one with a blown motor for a good price.

I have a 85 Suzuki Quadsport with a 230cc engine. With that motor it tends to be very light on the front. When I first got it the engine was dead and I tried to put in a 360 Honda twin. The frame was not high enough. I did run it for awhile with a 250cc Kawasaki motor but the kick starter was a nightmare and that engine had no electric start.

I read an article in one of the atv mags about a guy who put a 360 twin into a Blaster frame. They had to cut the frame and lengthen it, and they rose up the tank.
I guess I should go take some measurments.

I think the quadsport frame will be a nightmare, Ur better off using a lt250r frame or something of that nature. It should be fairly easy besides the mounts. Suzuki's rule!

I had a 1990 Suzuki QuadSport LT250S with a blown motor.
I put a 4cylinder Honda 350cc motor in it. I was pretty lucky. It just barely squeezed into it. i had to do a little cutting first though. and then re-welded and re-enforced the frame. it surely wasnt a jumping quad. but it was decent on flat grounds. I have a few pictures of it if you are interested. email me, threewheelio@hotmail.com.
I had small square plastic gas tank onthe grab bar in the rear, cause there was no room for the original gas tank cause the motor was too high. i ended up selling this quad for $500 cause I needed cash.
