There is a sleeve available for the Sport cyl that will take it out to 91mm's. MP Racing is using the YZ490 piston with the stock sleeve.

Interesting. That's 418cc with the YZ piston and 468cc with the bigger sleeve without stroking the crank.

Do you know if that uses the long or short rod?

An FL350R also has the same bolt pattern on the cases. I have an extra bottom end that I might make a project out of. It would only come out to 409cc with the 68mm stroke.

He's using the long rod (130mm)...The originals were a 389, but I know that he has a 440 that he just built but didnt have in time for DuneFest....The 389 is a 83mm x 72mm version...

He hasnt yet done a stroked version of this engine. I dont think that he will. With the FTZ in frame drag pipe he is seeing about 10,000+ RPM.....and some people say a big bore wont rev....yeah right....

440 might be a 2mm oversize YZ490 piston.

I point out that it is not stroked because the Pilot conversion requires stroking, not that I think it should be done. I don't know for sure, but I would assume that a special rod that is small on both ends is used. I don't like the idea of stroking a motor in a way that makes the crank weaker.

Renni Awana ran an FL350 hybrid motor in his super lite that I have been told was a 410. It sounded like a chain saw with the RPM's it spun. My FL350 spins 9K on pump gas. He was easily spinning 10K. It would just scream by cars with CR500 Pilot motors.

KTDuner, your image names contain spaces which will only work in a MicroSloth browser. You can change the spaces to %20 in the img tags to fix that. I still cannot see all the images though. I have tried using IE 4, IE 5, Netscape 4.61 and Netscape 4.7. One of the images is even a bitmap with a jpg extension on it.

I was able to pull up a side view of the motor. Do you have any closer pictures of the motor?

I am lost on the %20 thing and sorry if it won't work for you. I am an AOL user and works for me and my friends use Earthlink which works for them. I am new to the linking and Homepage thing. I need to learn more (I spent too much time on my bike he-he)I don't have other close up's of the motor either, sorry. Maybe if I sen't the pic's directly to you by E-mail, it would work?

When you specify the filename, you have to have to replace the spaces with %20. An easier solution is to not use spaces in the names in the first place. I see now that you used some sort of wizard type tool to create your page. Without specific knowledge of that tool, I could not tell you specifically where to put the %20 in.

With a little playing around, I pulled up the various images. I think the one I posted a link for is the closest engine pic you have though. Your machine looks good.

Who did the engine work? Where did you get the cylinder? How much did it cost?

I had a friend in town (Phx) do the motor. It's hard to say w/prices due to I had a one lump sum paid for the motor/polish/MSD ignition/chrome/etc....I trusted him and we never broke down prices. (i just know they were fair) Here is Another HONDA250R forum/link for those who love thier Hondas. Go to "Quad of the month" and you may be able to view the other pics there (he may have done it the right way). Anyways, thanks for the complement.
