The Skat-Trak paddles that I ordered from Magic Racing on August 3rd are still not here. I called Skat-Trak again today and the tires have still never been ordered by Magic's. It is almost as if Magic's is intentionally screwing me over. All I ever did was call and ask for a status. I did not rant at them.

You know, I go through these posts on a daily basis, to answer some of my posts, but mostly to pick up different/good tid bits of information. But the most important info that comes from this forum (in my opinion) is the quality control info on products and more importantly the shops that sell/perform the work on our machines.

It just scares the hell outta me to see so many businesses that have screwed people in here, just imagine how many people that have gotten taken that don't even come to this forum.

Everytime I pick up the phone or get on-line to make a purchase for my quad I start to sweat.

If you used a credit card to purchase the paddles, I would seriously think about calling the credit card company and getting that transaction called back and order from someone else. I believe most credit card companies have some sort of policy for your protection as long as it isn't over so many days (160 days I believe).

Good luck!

I told them to credit my card back on tuesday. I keep checking for it on my card's website and it has not shown up yet. There is a delay to when the site gets updated. If it is not there next week, I call the credit card company to see about disputting the charge.

I put a post in the Dunes forum to see about a better place to order them. The main reason I ordered them through Magic's is the price they gave me was $a lot less than direct through Skat-Trak. $49 a tire less I think. I wonder if they screwed up on the price so they decided to screw with me until I cancelled.

The one and only time MX South screwed up something on an order was a part number being one digit off. I got sent the wrong item. Jeff, the owner, refunded my money and did not have me ship the $20 item back. He said for the price of it, it was not worth the shipping and effort. Too bad more companies were not like that.

It does only seem to be a small percentage of companies that care little about the customer. And every company once in a while is going to make mistakes, it's how they handle the mistake that helps me decide weather to use them in the future.

I buy almost everything from magics and they are the fastest and most friendliest people to deal with.If you live in casco twsp. why didnt you just go to the store and get the paddles. They have just about everything in stock.

I order just about all my parts from Magic Racing and I have never had any problem with them. Unfortunately you do hear about alot of these problems on the internet because people are mad and want to vent there frustrations. On the whole though I would bet that the majority of the companies that we rip in the forums have satisfied thousands of customers and only have had a couple of problems. But those are the ones that we here about. When was the last time that a thread was started that said I ordered a part from such and such and i got the part on time.

I ordered them at the store, not over the phone. I ordered 12 paddle edges that had to be made to order by Skat-Trak. I would not think there would be many problems with parts they have in stock and they do have a huge inventory. As I gathered through the phone discussions, special orders seem to be kept track of inside Mike, the owner's head rather than on a computer. Every time I called and said I was checking on tires I ordered, I was told I had to talk to Mike who usually was not there.

atc86r, yeah it's Casco Township. There is no town, lots of dirt roads though.

MP250R, it makes me feel so much better that I am the only one out of thousands that got screwed by Magic's. As far as threads talking about companies the deliver on time, I mention good companies all the time. If MX South sold ATV tires, I would have ordered the paddles there. If Rocky Mountain ATV either carried 12 paddle edges or did special orders, I could have ordered them through there. I got Magic's name off this board where multiple people in a thread said they were good to deal with. I thought I would try someplace local rather than mail order. I bought a couple hundred dollars worth of other stuff the same day I ordered the paddles. So that's money that Magic's made because of this board that otherwise would have went to MX South.

There are a lot of posts about machine shops where someone built an engine and then it blew up. Those posts usually don't list any detail info like 'I followed their suggested break-in procedure', 'I changed my jetting to compensate for the modifications'. I don't usually put a lot of weight in those because based on the info given, I don't know that the shop did anything wrong. I had a cylinder bored by a local shop. After testing the motor for air leaks and doing several heat cycles, I took it out for easy run and it seized. I was pissed, but did not put a post on this board because I did not 'know' that it was the shops fault. After evaluating what happened, I realized the problem was too tight of tolerance, but not based on the info the shop had so it was not their fault. I did not check the tolerance the set the piston too before assembling the engine.

It is very evident that Magic's caused this problem. I have an invoice from August 3rd for 12 paddle edges. I can scan it and put it on my site if you don't believe me. Call Skat-Trak if you like and ask Larry if any 12 paddle edges have been ordered since August. He will tell you no. I suppose there is a chance (small IMO) that Skat-Trak lost the order the first time and every time that Mike said he called Skat-Trak to find out when they would be in and why they were so late. According to one of the other sales people at Magic's when I called two months ago, Skat-Trak said a couple more weeks. I don't know how he got a status on an order that was never placed or was lost. Even in the remote chance Skat-Trak did lose the order(s), why wasn't Mike on the phone bitching at them that he had a customer waiting on these for three months?

I would like to state my side of the story about the order for the Skat-Trak tires.
Yes in August you placed an order for Skat-Trak edge tires, upon which I told you would take about 4-weeks to recieve them, I then told you to give me a call at that time to check to see if they were in, they were not. I then called Skat-Trak to find out where they were. I found out that Skat-Trak had sent me Haulers by mistake, so then I talked to you about reordering them and you decided to, which would take about another 4-weeks because Skat-Trak makes the tires when you order them, they DO-NOT stock them. As far as you talking to Larry at Skat-Trak he cannot tell you what I have ordered from them, and sometimes but not-always we will order them thru another distributor.
Since we spoke on the phone on Monday your tires came in on Wednesday.
A $50 refund was applied to your credit card the following day.
Sometimes the refund takes up to 7-days to show on your report.
If you need to give us a bad report you should also include Skat-Trak for the mistake they have made, and not lay all of the blame on me or the company I work for.
It is unfortunate when mistakes/delays occur when special orders take place. Time waited becomes the motivation of the anger and it hurts BOTH the customer as well as the business/retailer involved. Magic Racing nor myself enjoys situations like this. There were not and NEVER are intentional wrong doings here at Magic Racing and we apologize for any mistakes we may have made within this sale.
