You jet a quad to get the right air-fuel mixture. If the quad is bone stock, factory specs are ok. As soon as you start doing mods (pipes, silencers, high flow filter, reeds) you need to rejet to get more fuel in. If you don't, the quad runs lean. Best case scenario is the quad runs lethargic, down on power, and bogs. The worst case scenario is a burned piston and other major motor damage. With all engine mods, they affect other systems that need to be adjusted also.

Did you buy pipes for your 'shee? If so call up the pipe maker and tell them where you live. It gives them an idea of what elevation and what kind of temperatures you ride at. With that, they will be able to tell you what size jets that you need. From there, you can buy the jets you need at a Yamaha dealer for a couple of bucks apiece yourself. Or you can buy a Dinojet kit for about $50 that is all inclusive with instructions. See their website for what stage you need. Its self explanatory. Don't waste your money on having someone do it for you. If you can put the pipes on your 'shee, you can rejet your carbs yourself.
