Mickey, I heard from a good source that with a pipe, filter and jetting you are getting 86 mph out of a new Grizzly. Is this true? Just wondered, because I'm thinking about buying one. Thanks.

Ford4X41995,

I have a real problem with people who quote hp figures and mph on these posts. Why do people have to exaggerate? It doesn't give any true information, it doesn't help anybody, I don't understand this. My Grizzly did 56 mph stock with the airbox opened up and a pipe (my home made IDS II SuperTrapp pipe) and jetted up to a 168 main jet. It runs 70 mph down the road until it hits the rev limiter. We just did a magazine article on Scott Kilby's race machine for next year this past weekend. I didn't get a chance to take it down the road but you can throw it sideways on the blacktop and wheelie out of the corner all the way across out 300 foot parking lot. The only thing else I added to this was an 80 over 11:1 piston and a ported head. The 735 kit with cam, stroker crank and bigger carberator will be done at the end of December but it still will only do 70 mph because of the rev limiter. It will just get there quicker!
