like i said above, you'll never completely get rid of vibration, but its more managable on a 3wheeler than a quad..

here's a pic of the cr500 motor we have.. as u can see its highly modified.

I dont think the word "modified" comletely describes that motor! More like Frankenstiened!!!! I have one question. What is that Red thing that is next to thee carb inside the aluminum housing? Is that the Nitrous fogger? As far as vibration, that would be easy to cope with when your out waxing everybody on the drag strip!!!

He is from the atvconnection chat room in IRC yea. That cylinder is modded like somethin else. I'd likle to see some pictures of the internals (porting) The KTM cylinder mod your dad does is wild looking, He sent me a couple of pictures of it a month or so ago. Ill tell him to check his AOL mail, he said hes been havin probs with the EXCite one.

well yeah its been modded a bit LOL
that red thing is a fuel injector for gas.. the carb is setup for Methonal and when using NOS (no2)on alcohol engines you need to inject gas as well.

the sides of the cylinder are welded to widen the transfer ports.

we are estimating the motor has about 100+ hp without the NOS.

my dad either wants to get a cr500 3wheeler conversion or sell the motor.
i think he wants something over $2000 for it. it also has an override trany mod in it. you'll have to get exact price from him though.

here's a pic of that ktm cylinder mated to the suzuki LT500 bottom end.

What is the bore on that KTM? Is that still an 18mm wrist pin? If you have a piston out, could you tell me the locatator pin position in degrees or clock position for the LT500 and/or the KTM?

I bought a Polaris Sport cylinder to mate to an FL350 bottom end. A YZ490 piston will work, but only the top ring can be used because the bottom locator pin will go over a port.

i'm up in washington at college, my dad has the bike down in southern oregon. so i dont have access to the piston.. the wrist pin is whatever the stock size for KTM is.
my dad had a custom titanium rod made for the setup. he re-locates the piston ring pins to keep them out of the ports.

hope that helps.
unfortunately i dont have any pics of the piston either.

From Wiseco's site, I know that the LT500 has an 18mm wrist pin and a KTM 380 has an 18mm wrist pin. It doesn't list anything larger than a 380 for KTM. I assume that it is around a 500 that you are using.

The FL350 has an 18mm wrist pin. The rod is the same as an '86 TRX250R. I was going to switch to the longer '89 250R rod so the spacer plate will be thicker and give more room to blend the transfers. It looks like I may have to do something like that CR500 jug though because the Polaris transfers are very small compared to those on the FL350.

ok, this ktm cylinder is the 550 cc. wiesco doesnt make the 550 piston (its 92mm)
and now that i think about it, i'll have to ask my dad when i see him online next. but i think the wristpin is 20mm
i'll find out tho.
