Carb stalls on incline
#1
Hi!! Hope someone can help me here. I have an 86 Trx 250 utility that I rebuilt the carb on. It has a brand new float and needle as well as the rest of the carb parts. It runs like a champ. I have this steep rocky hill on the power lines behind my property which I like to climb. I can make it up 80% of the way then she quits. It starts right back up then dies a few seconds later. I see some drips on the ground from the overflow tube. When I roll back down it starts and runs fine. The pivot point on the float is towards the rear of the quad so it shouldnt be shutting the fuel off on an incline. I also coated the inside of the tank and put in a new petcock so everything is flowing nice. Anyone with ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your floats, but you could check the main jets for any thing in them. I had this same problem on a 185s and it was a dirty carb. When mine stalled it would run good if I had the choke on for a few minutes.
Good luck,
Good luck,
