What I know about shocks:Custom Axis is aparently the best according to those that have rode em all,but at 1300$ they should be,got a quote for Elka's at 1075$ but they are getting ready to change their valving for a better design,PEP ZPS's are prolly what I am going to get, mostly cuz they are a few hundred less than the axis.TCS,, anyone w/TCS at the nationals are bringing them to PEP for the PEP valving, nuff said there!good luck

Custom Axis is a good shock but, they don't make zero preload shocks yet. So if you were looking for a good zps shock for mx racing I am guessing? I wouls have to go with either elka's or TCS. The PEP's are great shocks but there is a 10 week wait on them and they have by far the worst customer service ever. If I were you I'd get myself a pair of triplerate Elka's with rezzies ZPS for around 750$.

Custom Axis arent ZPS, but they do come from the factory with an extreme amount of sag for low ride height. But when you adjust the preload the bike sits taller, but i couldnt really feel it when I adjusted mine (height wise). I love my axis', nuff said.

Oh yeah, the PeP and TcS quality is no where near that of an Axis or Elka.

ok theres one major thing wrong with mxbubs saying that elka's qulity is better then tcs. why you may ask.. well tcs's are Elka's.. o yes i said elka's. TCS takes elka shocks and reworks them for better performance. TCS in the past used works but in the last year or so have been using elka bodies. I have heard many good things about Tcs.

Interesting, I thought Elka's just hit the market place about 3 months ago - at least here in the US. In any case I hear the guy building the Elka shocks used to work for Custom Axis, so I assume some technology transfer may have taken place. They look good, and I just installed triple rates with rezzies on my 250X - they sold them to me and didn't mention I would have to build new shock towers to fit them to my Houser plus 4" A arms. - details details!!(these are Houser 400 ex +2, +1's A-Arms) which are plus 4 +1 for a stock 250x. we had to add about 2.5" of shock tower to get the A arms to a neutral position.

PS smoker try RRP in new jersey, they are a dealer, have quite a few in stock, and are the Northeast service center for Elka. TEL. 908 454 8800 keep trying it is busy a lot.

PS2 the owner Mike Rossini used to work with the guy at Elca at Penske racing before it spun off the suspension division as Custom Axis.

You can find them at C&D Racing. That is where I got mine. http://colbykostman.tripod.com or (308)368-7805 I got tripple rates with adjustable compression and ssd for right around $740. Hope this helps
