Been reading a few sites of HHH stuff (Higher HP Honda's) and none of the builders even offer any coating work.

Have any of you with built motors looked into them or used them?

Dry Lube: Valve Stems, Valve Springs, Piston Skirts, Rockers
Ceramic: Piston Crown, Combustion Chamber, Valve Faces, Exhaust Ports,
Thermal Disapaters: Cylinder Finnes, Oil Tank, Bottom of Piston

I'm building a stroker big bore this spring and have the money for all of this, but would like some real user feed back no hype or the I had a friend story.

Later

MXBUBS1,

If ignorance is bliss, than you must be EXESTATIC. I have read some of your other post and it appears that your sole purpose is to whine, complain, rag-on anything that is suggested or asked in this forum.

People come here to get real information, and not be mislead by hype and stories. Maybe you don’t get it, or this is how you make yourself feel better about whatever tragedy that your life is currently in.

I asked a real question and hoped for a real response. If you think your funny, I can assure you that your not, my opinion.

As far as starting a FLAME WAR, I don’t care I have a big fire extinguisher.

If anybody has REAL information, please respond, if not, maybe a lead on who to ask.

Thanks

Smitty

I have modified several FL350R engines. It is an air cooled motor that ran hot from the factory. In order to reduce piston scuffing caused by the high heat and exhaust port bridge (they did not relieve them from the factory). If Honda was doing it, I figure it must work. The Wiseco pistons do not come with the coating so I have been sending them out to get coated after I prep the pistons. I also get the domes ceramic coated as well. I have not torn one back down yet to see if it has made a difference, but I have been running them at a tighter tolerance without problem. I was running .009" piston to wall clearance on a modified machine to keep from seizing it when it reached temperature. I have not tried running the high 1400 degree EGT readings that I have read you can run with the ceramic coating. I have still kept it to around 1250 with an occasional 1300 spike. I have a friend who likes to run 1350 without the coating and doesn't seem to mind replacing pistons. I want him to try out a coated piston to see if it holds up in his with the leaner jetting before trying it in mine.
