k&n air filter

you both are WRONG sorry i don't mean to be a jerk but a k&n filter is a race goodie one of those things racer's have to add an axtra 1000001 of a horse power like running a non o ring chain but with a prefilter the slip on that goes over it and i wouldn't even think about not getting the prefilter with the k&n it work's fine and isn't a bad filter if you just ride because you love the sport like me and aren't worried about power gains that bearly show up on a dyno your better off with a foam type filter like uni dura blue or pro flow P.S i have a k&n and yes it does let bad things into your engine but then agein iv not been takeing my own advice about the pre filter but i have one now

THANKS DUDE!!! I have a K&N in my 99 ford e-350 box van.I bought it because of the increased air flow and the possibility of increased fuel mileage. But I'm off to the races now!

Well, I think a K&N flows better than a foam or paper filter but.....
In a car/truck driven on the road you aren't generally exposed to the volume of dirt and dust that a quad is. For this application a K&N is a good choice. They DO flow better but I doubt the difference is something you'll really feel.
In dirt & dusty conditions I feel a K&N is a BAD choice. The foam filter will catch dust better tha K&N. If you use an outerwear on your K&N in the dust my evperience has alway been that the outerwear just gets clogged with dust. and probably doesn't flow that well. The outerwear, in my opinion, is good for sand and that's about it. A foam filter is a better choice here.
Inthe sand, a K&N with outerwear can't be beat. It flows the best and there isn't really any dust to worry about. The sand just falls off the outerwear and doesn't clog up.
Just my $.02 worth.
