Will a bigger carb make a motor go faster if the motor isnt specificaly ported for the carb?

No, or at least I have not seen a bike that had improved performance by simply bolting on a carb.

In my experience, it seems that the carb is usually one of the last items to purchase when hopping up the motor. In my cases this has applied to two and four strokes.

In some instances I think you can run a bigger carb on an unported motor. An example would the banshee. 30mmpwk's will work perfectly fine on an unported engine. However, when you port it they will run that much better. Most of the time though, I recommned bigger carbs only after porting, but like I said there are exceptions. What is your specific situation?
