Desert Guys, could you give me some tips please?:D

Hi, and thanks for the attention. I wanted to know what your desert bikes have on them. I am not new to quadding, nor desert. My bike is stock, I have been riding it stock for a while, and i'm afraid it might break one day, or I won't have enough power to go somewhere. Could you help me with my parts problem? Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what your question is. ...do you want to know what modifications riders make to their machines? A little more specific question might help.

I carry fix a flat, tire plugs, sparkplugs, gas(premix oil if I ride my 2-stroke) and the stock tool kit.I have a camelback that holds 70 ounces of water,I bring lots of beef jerky to chew on.
My friend carries much of the same stuff plus a cell phone.

Where to start? FMF header and pipe, K&N filter, and Edelbrock carb. These are engine mods, and the sort of thing anybody would do to their bike, no matter where thay ride. Note that all these are EXTERNAL. I havn't done anything INTERNAL to the engine, because I don't want to compromise reliability.
On the frame, DG skid plates (engine, rear hub, and a-arms), DG nerf bars, DG bumper, IMS "desert" tank (and you thought the DS Baja was the "desert tank"
, Works Performance shocks. Probably the most important thing is to WIDEN the bike! The tack I have taken is to run ITP Holeshot XCT's (22" rear and 23" front for better ground clearance) on ITP 9X9" (wider than stock and has a wider offset) rims. This makes the bike 4+" wider than stock in the rear. This is wide enough for improved stability, but not so wide that it can't manage the occasional tight trail. Most people would go with 4+ a-arms in the front too.
What else? I went 1 tooth bigger on the rear sprocket to make up for the bigger 22" tires, and a DID 520 ATV X-Ring chain, which is much stronger than stock.
