street drags

ok brandom i think you have convinced me!¡! who would you have build the motor? also who makes good drag pipes(ftz maybe)? just on a side note, i agree with you on the short stroke revving more. ftz claims they can get 75 horse out of a 250r and i guess that is a true 250cc motor because of the short stroke. another question, stock ignition? i know MSD makes good stuff(but again for drags ftz says theirs is better than msd's) i know i'm reffering to ftz alot but i was thinking about building a 250r about 9 months ago but for draging i think i'd rather go with a bigger cc motor. also do you or anyone else know if the pro-x cylinder's for the banshee are out yet? because "they" say that the ports are a heck of alot better because they're not just a copy of the original (i may be right i may be wrong). maybe down the road i'll sink some more $$$ into the motor (hmmmmm maybe a efi/turbo system). well i guess that's it for now. seeya oh and thanks for all of your help!¡!

Most all your pipes are the same. One guy builds them for pretty much everybody. Trinities and CPI's are different designs. I would recommend buying the pipes from whoever you get your porting done by. I think C&O builds the fastest 350 on the planet. Its not a motor you putt around on. Its wide open or iddle! Top side is suicidal! POrtmagic also builds a fast motor for your application. I have seen the monoblock(PRO-X) and it flies. Superior sleave(www.superiorsleeve.com) markets them. It is actually not a Pro-X, but its the same thing. They fly, but it will cost you! They have a different port layout and actually have dual exhaust ports. FTZ supposedly has some fast engines, but I havent seen one yet. I sold a set of there alky carbs tonight in fact. They were some extras I had left over so i got rid of them. I also have there ignition. It is much better than stock. I am not using it though, and actually want to sell it. I have 4 or 5 of everything!! I just talked to a friend who was at Glamis for thanks giving and FTZ was there. They had one of those MONSTER 250R's and my friend had a C&O 250r and waxed him all the way up the hill. I would let C&O port my motor. FTZ has some good stuff though as I mentioned. There Alky carbs are awesome and the ignition is good too. I here their pipes are good, but I havent seen them yet. One thing that will help you ALLOT! Get an overide tranny. It lets you shift wihtout use of the clutch. In 300ft it make a 1/10-3/10 difference! In a eighth, almost doubel that. Yuor bike will no longer be play ridable, but it will fly at the track. I think I answered your questions, but if I didnt just ask!

brandon,
have you ever heard anything good about k&t? i have heard some good things but don't really know. who do you think builds the better big motor(440++)? because if i have someone build me a motor i'll probably have them build it to the limit and then some! my philosiphy: if your gonna get it done get it done RIGHT the first time!. thanks

K&T builds a super fast engine, but I talked to some friends last night and they didnt seem to be too pleased wiht the dealings of Kim Muchmore. They feel that he will screw you, but I dont have any first hand experience. If you want to do it right the first time then get a superior sleeve monoblock and let Rudy at port magic do it or Bruce at C&O. Those cylinders with a stroker crank should make over 100hp easily and will probably run mid 5'2 in the eighth! It will be a handful. I would call Rudy and Bruce and see what they would recommend. Tell them your intentions and what you want to accomplish and they will sugest to you the best choice. I will tell you this, big motors are very delicate and come apart allot. Prepare to buy a new set of pistons every few races, unless your lucky. Attention to minute details is what will make that motor last.

ok brandon i just went on the superior sleeve website. they want like 2000$ for the cylinders! oh well not having enough money isn't an option! would you recomend their crank? or go with the one for whoever builds the motor? also is the 1000$ worth it for the billet crank? so how big(displacement) can they go with the motor? thanks

The twister billet crank is top of the line. Most engine builders are going to those now for their stroker motors. I told you they were expensive! You go over 600cc with that cylinder and crank. Close too 700 I believe! With the right amount of money, the sky is the limit!
