the timing chain has slipped twice since i refreshed the upper end of my trx250x. there was no problem prior to doing this work. i retract the spring and hold it until the chain tensioner is bolted down and yet it still slips. perhaps the chain is worn but i find it too coincidental that it started after doing this work. does anyone no how much play there should be where the chain lay on top of the sproket? there is a little but not much. should it be very tight around the cam sprocket? if the tensioner is snapping out when i release it does that prove it is good or is there away to measure it? any help would be appreciated.
thanks dan

The chain should have no play.My guess is the tensioner isn't pushing against the chain enough,or the chain is so worn that even after the tensioner is fully out the chain is still loose.
