I was wondering what kind of mods it takes to run a quad engine on alcohol?? Thanks.

 

Well if you had a two stroke then it would be as easy as putting an alky carb on it. But judging from your name you have a 400ex. I am not exactly sure what is involved in running a four stroke on alcohol. It amy be as simple as putting on the carb or it could involve using longer duration on the valving openings. It will probably work on a stock engine, but probably better the longer the vlaves are open. Of coarse head porting would help also. Because alcohol burns twice as fast as gas, I think you would need to keep those valves open just a bit longer to get that extra charge of fuel. I am not a pro on fourstroke conversion to alcohol, I mainly just deal with two strokes.
