Hey guys whats up. Heres my projected project for my 1991 LT250R quadracer: Put either a Rm250,dr350, or possibly a katana600 engine into my quad. What iwant to know is what modifacations nned to be done so the quad can accept the engine. It is a stock fram accept for after market swing arm. Which engine would be best for woods and open fields riding. Thanks

 

either the rm250 or the dr350 . the katana 600 would be beter for open areas . and as far as mods . engine mounts would have to be made and check the swing arm gape vs the bolt area on the back of the motor . with out doing one myself thats about all i can help you with .

 

Well after a little thinking last night and procing i think a XR600 would benefit me the best although the dr350 is still a option. When you talk about the swingarm bolt, do you mean where the current engine and swingarm come together and if it doesnt come together on teh other engine what needs to be done.

 

you might need to machine some of the bosses off of the motor to get it to fit in between . soundes like a pretty good project .

 

The RM swap is fun.


but what's wrong with your LT motor? i'd just modify it. make it a 285 and port it... then you won't shake your teeth out.

 

My transmission is screwed up in my Lt I love the power it hasx but i already fixed everything that was wrong but it still has problems and i dont feel like splitting the cases open again. So I will keep that in there untill i get the XR600 engine which i will rebuild and will have the power of a bigger wuad that i cant afford right now lol I do have extra Lt parts though if any one is interested.
