How to make decals???
#1
Has anyone designed/made their own decals using a computer and printer? Is there some kind of kit you can buy that does this? I mean, I can design the decals, but is there some kind of special paper that I can buy to print the decals on? Just curious if anyone has done this. I've heard of people having sign/graphic shops make custom decals, but I thought it would be fun to be able to do this at home. Anyone?

You can use a clear sticker type paper, but you need an overlaminate paper to protect the ink from moisture. I ordered some stuff from this place and they have a big selection. They even have clear vinyl for making window decals.

the program on owr computer to design viniyl cut decals (like you would buy from anywhere) cost 10g's and the heat transfer color "printer" cost 50g's and the cutter cost 15g's so if you get them you can make great decals for the low cost of $75000

I came up with a design then had a graphics Co. draw them up and put them on a good vinyl... THis vinyl is called a convex material.. its used on race cars ect... It was a bit more to have doen, but the durability is much better than after market sitckers are..and its unique.. no one has one like mine I would post mine if I knew how to post a pic here..

TNT did it the most inexpensive way. By inexpensive I mean draw up your own designs and have a pro do it. I'm better at drawing my ideas than trying to program them into a computer. When I drew the logo for my team(me and my wife), I took it to a graphics shop and they download it into their comp. and can make changes or make them any size. Its not "inexpensive", but its a lot cheaper than trying to do it yourself.

but, it did give them a general idea on what I was wanting ,so they did all the downloading also, and sizing, its not cheap by any means, but I like having my own custom design..I have done one on our mini Kasea 90 and about to do two more on the mini eton 50 and my 400ex on silver plastic...
