Foul plug check
#1
I have a 2000 banshee and I want to make sure i have good jetting. I know that i run it til it gets hot then shut it off and hold the throttle wide open, then check the plugs. Is this a good way to check them or some other way?

I guess from my experiances, the right way to check a plug would be to run the engine in about 3rd gear at a pretty good clip (half throttle should work).......Then pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch.....coast to a stop....and check the plugs......that way you know for sure that the reading was taken were the engine would normally be operating.....
Just starting the engine and letting it idle is almost always going to give you a rich looking affect on the plug...

My bike is stock except for pro circuit pipes, and a pro design with K&N's. Temp is 40-70(spring in NH) 30.14 barometric and 60% humidity.
200 mains,3rd groove needle clip position, air scew 2 turns out. Thanks for the help guys.

I would think that 200 main jets...which is stock...would be way too small for your ride...But if they work....they work....
I have the pro flo kit with fmf pipes, and I have to run 270's to get the jetting right.
Thats without the airbox lid
